Pursuing this new strategy, the centre, Collegium Hungaricum, has managed to build up a strong presence in the Austrian media and the cultural life of Vienna, said
Marton Mehes.
"We have managed to win the attention of the Austrian media, they consider us as the source of information in Vienna on the Pecs 2010 European Capital of Culture projects," he said, adding that a cultural reportage had been aired on Austrian public television on the Pecs project made in cooperation with the Collegium.
Pecs will continue to be promoted throughout the year, he said, noting that on the Night of Museums in Vienna -- a day promoting museum-related events -- works by artists from the city's university will be presented in the centre with a laser dance show, Mehes said.
Under the Month of Photography event in October, the Collegium will put on a large-scale exhibition featuring several images by renowned Hungarian-born war photographer Robert Capa.
The focus next year during Hungary's January-June EU presidency will be on programmes linked to the cooperation of the Danube countries under the EU's Danube strategy, the director said.
